Graduate Studies

Closing the Gap

With our long-standing reputation as Canada's most innovative university, McMaster has developed a unique, collaborative and interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Biomedical Engineering that resides equally within the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering.

Students gain high-level, in-depth knowledge and a rich hands-on experience in both life/health sciences and engineering/physical sciences. It is a true interdisciplinary approach and an experience unique to McMaster University.

Our goal is to leverage McMaster's internationally recognized strengths and resources toward the development of new approaches in biomedical science and technology, through both fundamental and more goal-oriented translational research programs.

We anticipate that graduating students will be in a position to make enormous contributions to the field, developing innovative solutions to medical and health-related problems, as a result of their interdisciplinary exposure and training.
